A concert in celebration of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II’s Diamond Jubilee, with music by composers who have written for the monarchy. The programme features the gloriously lyrical Violin Concerto by Sir William Walton, played by the brilliant and internationally renowned Ukrainian violinist, Valeriy Sokolov, and a revival of Sir Henry Walford Davies’ Big Ben Looks On, a piece dedicated to the Princesses Elizabeth and Margaret Rose. The evening is in aid of the St Lazarus Charitable Trust, which raises money for the cure, care and rehabilitation of leprosy sufferers.
